Things learnt from PPD

 Throught last two years we had PPD as a compulsary subject.But sadly I have to say that all PPD sessions were over now.However Those things we learnt from PPD can never be forgotten.

As software engineering undergraduates we have to study so many difficult subjects. But among them PPD is a very interesting, important and compulsory subject for us. In the other hand, we can say PPD is the most important subject among them. Because this is the subject that improve our personal qualities. Without personal qualities there is no any importance of studying anything.
We started our PPD session from introducing ourselves in front of the class. After that we did so many team activities, games, presentations in every week. In first day it was very difficult to talk in front of the class. But at last we did that type of activities very happily. Because we felt we are getting improve day by day among these activities. Sarasi madam always got advices to communicate in English with others. Not only that, in the some PPD sessions we have to do presentations, speeches as well as dialogs. Though those activities we could improve as well as presentation skills day by day.


We did so many team works and games. So, through that team works and games we learnt
  • o   How to work as a team,
  • o   How to bear win and defeat,
  • o   How to respect others and their ideas,
  • o   What are the importance of being a leader to a team,
  • o   How to work under a leader,
  • o   How to work as a leader,
  • o   What are the role of a leader……. etc.

And sometimes we got so many tasks to do as a team.so that,
  • o   We have to communicate with others,
  • o   We have to identify the opportunities and barriers,
  • o   We have to planed something and selected the best options,
  • o   And had to complete some task within given time periods.so we have to thought about time management and managing limited resources.

Not only these all…………...,
Sarasi madam gave us an unforgettable opportunity. That is the outbound training in the Trincomalee Navy Camp. First of all, we have to thank very much for that. We got so many life experiences from that.
As we are going to the industry in the competitive world, we had to perform that qualities. As software engineers we have to work as teams to achieve given tasks.
So, this PPD session helped us in many ways to improve our personal qualities. Not only that PPD sessions were very enjoyable and interesting. When we look back about our way we have got so many important things for our life. Finally, we have to thankful our madam for all.

BARTER PUZZLE

Barter Puzzle.. In last PPD session we had to do a very interesting game named "Barter Puzzle".First of all,Sarasi madam divided us to three groups and named a group leaders for each groups ... Then madam gave three magazine papers to three leaders.Leaders showed that magazine paper to the members.After that madam said to leaders to cut it to 100 pieces.One of member in each group helped to do that for leaders. Then we had to  rebuild the magazine paper as before within 45 minutes.we started to set the pieces to make the pictures but some pieces were mixed from other teams. I f we wanted to that pieces from any group,we had to give them to another  pieces. While we were doing that task madam called us to and said to do the game"Tap and Walk".After that we come back and started to set pieces again.At the end we set so many pieces except 8-10 pieces.
